I am from wiffle balls,
from Kleenex and Welch's.
I am from the backyard clubhouse, and a tree house that was never built.
It tasted like green leaves.
I am from the little helicopters that fell to the ground,
the front yard trees aligned as perfect bases,
from birthday bonfires after an unexpected storm.
I'm from the confetti filled Easter eggs and new pajamas on Christmas Eve.

I'm from Vacation Bible School
and finally getting the Timothy Award.
I'm from Des Moines and many places I've never visited,
green bean casserole and deviled eggs
from the time grandpa drove his truck and broke the bookshelf,
and the Hallmark marathons with Barbie.

Inside a rubber tub in the basement,
I am from all of these things,
a life played like a movie for my Heavenly Father.
