Achieving Goals

So this is super late, and I never actually kept up with how many pictures I took during the summer, but I am proud to say that I did achieve my goal! I was able to take at least one picture every day for the entire summer. I don't think that a lot of people could say that, unless they were as obsessed with pictures as I am.
Another update, I am attempting to get a job as a photographer for one of the magazines on campus, and possibly do some odd jobs for the school newspaper. I suppose that we will have to see where those things go.
One thing that I wish I could have taken part in was being the Drake Magazine blogger. I would have my own blog once a week that I could do whatever I wanted with. I think that would have been super cool!
Today is the Iowa/Iowa State game, and it is weird to think that for once I may not watch it. It's been something that I have been doing since middle school, and before that, we would listen to the scores on the bus on the way back from the Carroll Keumper cross country meet. Lots of things are changing. Last year on this day I was giving my "speech" for the halftime entertainment of the game. This year I will be studying!
But I really am not complaining! I have been able to do a lot of cool stuff since I have been at Drake. My classes are fairly interesting, and if not, I am still learning a lot. I had my first test this week, which was really scary, but I feel like I did alright. Now to study for another one!
I must say, transitioning has been slightly difficult. It is weird to not have my dad tell me when to do my homework, exercise, eat, and go to bed. I think I have been doing a fairly decent job though. My homework gets done eventually, and I go to bed at a decent time. I am thankful for the people that visit me though, because it gives me a chance to get off campus for awhile and spend time with the people I miss. So now it is 9:30 in the morning, and I need to get busy, or Monday will be here all too soon. :(

Striding for him,
Melanie Leach
