Whirlwind Weekend

As I sit here at my desk doing all sorts of things that I actually shouldn't be doing, (Pinterest, Facebook stalking, reading Eliza, Kara, and Billie's blog) I decided that I should probably post about my super eventful past weekend....With pictures. You see, it was not an ordinary weekend. Actually, it was pretty crazy. Also, I am sorry if this is an incredibly long post.

1. Sarah (amazing friend from college) came home with me on Thursday night. Just for fun...and because I had to practice a song for Kristin's wedding. Anyway, mom took us into the grocery store...bad decision on her part. We made an angel food cake...It overflowed in the oven and flopped when we took it out. However, it tasted absolutely amazing.

2. I only had class for 30 minutes on Friday. Yay me! I got to hang out with Erick all day and watch Remember the Titans. Best of all, I finally got to deposit about $350 worth of work checks that I have had in my possession for over a month.

3. I had choir practice until 9 o'clock Friday night. Then we drove down to Missouri. I proceeded to take a shower at 1 A.M., and then had the pleasure of waking up at 5 to do bridesmaid hair. Crazy.

4. Kristin's wedding. It was very beautiful. We even got some great pictures of our family, courtesy of Aunt LeAnn! (Thanks!) Oh, and Ann and I sang at the wedding, Aunt LeAnn played, and everyone loved it. (See picture above.)

Too bad we couldn't find Cory at this point! :(

5. Getting back home. Ann invited me to prom. It started at 8. We had an almost 4 hour drive. We left at 2:30. You do the math on how crazy that ended up. :) But, we figured it out, and it was a very fun night. Although I am not much of a dancer (unless it is choreographed) I was happy to spend my night with Ann, helping to make her senior prom special. We even squeezed in a few pictures and made it ON TIME. (Once again, photo credit goes to Aunt LeAnn.)

Story Time: Kirk was absolutely precious. After being slightly eager to go home and play video games, he paused long enough to take this picture. As we were smiling, he told me that I looked beautiful in my dress, and that was a great start to my night. I love my (not so little) brother.

6. Post prom. Now, if you can imagine, I am one tired girl by this point in time. In the end, I was up for a full 24-hours, minus the 40ish minute nap on the car ride home. We still had a lot of fun though, and Ann won quite a few prizes! Since we got to Perfect Games on the first bus, we were able to get a caricature done right away without waiting in line.

7. My choir concert was very long the next day, but I survived it, and then Erick and I got to hang out for a few hours before homework became the priority. It was a very silly night full of photo booth selfies and LOTS of laughs. I am very very thankful for that boy.

So that was my weekend, folks!

Striding for him,
Melanie Leach
