Playing Catch Up

Since I got home from Europe, it seems like I have been in this constant game of catch up. After being gone for a few weeks, the last month has been spent tracking people down, or being tracked down, to talk about everything that has happened in my life recently.

I was so excited to be home after the tiring trip, but honestly it has been almost equally exhausting finding time to spend with all of the people I missed while I was away. Not to mention, I found out the night that I got back that we will be going on another vacation, this time with pretty much all of our family.

Yeah, vacations are great, but trying to get back into a rhythm again is a little bit more challenging. I calculated it out today, and I think that I will be gone for about a month and a half throughout this whole summer. That's kinda excessive, and I thought that I travelled a lot LAST summer.

Honestly, I am grateful for all of the different opportunities that I have had to experience new things this summer, and I can't wait to continue learning different things on my other trips throughout the remainder of the summer.

So, SOCIAL Catch Up. Yeah. It pretty much looked like Melanie making plans with everyone that wanted to get my attention, and then Melanie proceeding to tell the exact same story over and over again. What was your favorite part? Was it an amazing vacation? I am glad that you got such an amazing opportunity!

Not only have I played catch up in the social world, but I have also been struggling to get back into basketball workouts lately. Since I was in Europe, I didn't have a chance to workout or shoot at all, so the past few weeks I have realized how important it is to build up a base before I leave again. I am thankful that our family vacation will at least be within the U.S. And hopefully the resort will have a weight room.

In other news we have begun to really prepare for our mission trip to Haiti. Today I purchased a Polaroid camera so that I can print the pictures off for the little girls to keep while we are there. I just got to thinking, because our team leader said that they love having their picture taken, and they will want to look at it afterward, so I thought, "why not let them keep the picture?"

I really hope that this is something that they can all enjoy! This week seems like it will be a little bit more relaxing!

Please pray for me and my mom while we are in Haiti! God is going to do great things, we just don't know yet!

Striding for him,
Melanie
