It's A Small World After All
And no, I am not talking about, "Oh my goodness, we were at the state fair on the same day" kind of thing. I am talking, the chance that you see someone you know at Disney World.
Since a lot of people from the area go to Grand View, I'm bound to come across some connections that I didn't think were possible.
I have two specific examples. There is a guy in one of my classes named Dakota. He went to Grandview Park Baptist for high school. They used to be in our athletic conference. And so, it is extremely likely that we were at several of the same sporting events. We even watched each other PLAY and we just didn't know it.
It's connections like this that seem really cool to me. I mean, at the time that we saw each other, we would have never known that we would later meet and have an actual conversation. Not to mention, we'd become friends. And of course there are people that I remember from sports, but that's the thing, I remember them because I remember a specific interaction that I had with each individual.
I know that a lot of people don't remember specific things as much as I do, but I am extremely thankful for the memories I have, and the amount that I pay attention to what I absorb through my own eyes as well as what I read.
Do you ever wonder if people know as much about you, or care as much about you as you do of them?
I suppose the point of this was really just getting at the fact that we do actually live in a small world, and I am thankful that I am able to make these types of connections with people. So, don't be afraid to actually talk and try to make connections. You may be surprised by what you find out.
Striding for him,
Melanie
