Response to "15 Signs You're Ready to Go Back to College After Winter Break"
As this VERY long break comes to an end, I found a little post on buzzfeed call "15 Signs You're Ready to Go Back to College After Winter Break." It amused me that someone took the time to write some of the clever "signs", and I realized that I have quite a few of them.
Of course, some are absolutely ridiculous, but quite funny to picture. I guess I don't really want to write much about this post, but I wanted to bring it into view.
I have finally realized that my transition into college has been complete, as I see that I have been fighting the feeling of wanting to go back for the last two weeks. Once all of the other colleges finished their breaks, I came to the conclusion that I no longer wanted to be home. After all, I have only been working, and have rarely had the chance to hang out with anyone in town.
Thankfully, less than a week separates me from being back at Drake and in the dorms. I hate to admit it, but I am more excited about classes than dorm life. I don't know if that makes me a nerd or something, but I am ready to take then next step towards my career as a journalism *fingers crossed*.
I must admit, I can't imagine some of these "symptoms" actually happening. I don't think that sleeping in will ever lose it's glamour unless I get used to waking up early. I also don't think that I will ever get past level 86 of candy crush, so I will never pass it 2 times!
I suppose though, there are several reasons that I do think I am ready to go back to school. My room is out of control finally. I have begun to actually take for granted the number of clothes that I have, so I don't do laundry quite as much. I haven't had a place to be in the mornings, so I've stayed up way too late at night, and snoozed the alarm about 5 times each day. I have watched a whole lot of Netflix. I haven't done much about exercise, and haven't even felt guilty about it.
Mostly, I miss the friends that I have made over the past semester, and where I left things. I have finally learned how life on campus works, and I miss having a routine to follow. I actually miss studying and learning. Call me crazy, but I think I have a few crazy reasons I'm ready to go back as well.
