No Whales in Wales?
We went to another country today! Wales is about an hour away, and since Maggie really wanted to see a castle we headed to Conwy to visit the castle. After seeing a lot of little waterfalls from afar yesterday I decided to mention that I would like to see one if it was near.
When we got out of the car, Maggie and I were a little confused as to where we were. We thought that we would be seeing the castle first. Instead, we went to the furthest point to visit Swallow Falls. From the car we could hear the water rushing. We hiked down to the different look-out points where we were able to get some great pictures of the water. I have really enjoyed the fact that Maggie and I both appreciate the beauty that God has created around us, and that we are both able to capture it together as a form of leisure.

While we were there we found a few different couples that we were able to take pictures of so that they could both be in the picture. I always find it a nice thing to offer because I know how important pictures are to me, so I at least want to offer the option to the people that we see.

Next stop was the village of Conwy, where we became adventurers once again. We were able to explore the ruins of a castle that was built about 600 years ago! It was a pretty awesome experience for us all. It was really fun to just try to imagine everything that went on while people lived there, and what rooms served which purposes.
There were several places where you could pretty much jump off of the edge. That scared me quite a bit, because I am fine with heights unless I am really close to the edge or don't feel like there are enough supporting structures.
When we left the castle, we attempted to track down Michelle and Mucker (her dog). It turns out that as they were attempting a walk on the beach, they both sunk into some sand and got extremely dirty. She had spent almost the entire time that we were in the castle just trying to clean herself as well as Mucker off.

We even got to visit the smallest house in Great Britain! It was pretty tiny, and I can't actually imagine anyone living there, let alone comfortably, but apparently it did happen, and the man was over six feet tall!
Everyone else headed to a pub when we got back, but due to my introverted nature I enjoyed a night at home with Mucker where I was able to watch a movie, play outside, and FaceTime Erick! He's such a goober, but I do enjoy the chances that I get to talk to him. Now if only Mom and Dad could figure out that type of technology.
Tomorrow I will be properly educated about everything Beatles. Can you guess where we are headed?
Striding for him,
Melanie
